Szamszir (شمشیر) - Persian curved sword about sharp finishing firebrand. By virtue of one's shape called the tail of the lion (per. szamszir). She was used in XVI-XIX of the age. Unlike the Turkish weapon, usually she wasn't decorated with gold, silver and precious stones. She was a murderous weapon but to not-wearing opponents is arming.
A considerable incurvation of firebrand is a distinctive feature of this weapon. Hilt of the sabre of the type szamszir a simple cross guard protected.
