Szamszir (شمشیر) - Persian curved sword about sharp finishing firebrand. By virtue of one's shape called the tail of the lion (per. szamszir). She was used in XVI-XIX of the age. Unlike the Turkish weapon, usually she wasn't decorated with gold, silver and precious stones. She was a murderous weapon but to not-wearing opponents is arming.

A considerable incurvation of firebrand is a distinctive feature of this weapon. Hilt of the sabre of the type szamszir a simple cross guard protected. In XVI and defend the 17th century the one was also met on areas of the Republic, especially on eastern lines, where reached behind the Turkish agency.
