 POLISH OFFICER'S SABER MODEL 1921 SMOOTH WITH SCABBARD ON PLAQUE

 



 

The presented saber is a faithful replica of the original Polish Army officer's saber - model 1921. This type of sabers was produced in workshops in Warsaw or German Solingen during the interwar period.

The blade is smooth on both sides, with a fuller from the base to the tip and a finishing quill. The handle casing is made of brass, with a slightly forward-protruding pommel. The brass guard with a smooth surface covers the pommel and the back of the handle. The crossguard has a closed knuckle bow, also cast from brass. The rear arm of the crossguard has a teardrop-shaped ending.

The scabbard is made of high-quality, chrome-plated Toledo steel. It has one groove near the throat and a relatively large ridge.

The set also includes a wooden plaque.

STEEL AND MAINTENANCE

The saber is not sharpened nor designed for sharpening (not suitable for fencing). The blade is made of polished carbon steel. Polishing is done to achieve a uniform, matte, smooth texture. We recommend that from time to time the blade be maintained with a very thin layer of oil or another lubricating agent dedicated to steel maintenance (this will help maintain the high quality of the product).
