This sabre was given to General Wladyslaw Sikorski from 22nd Infantry Regiment on a name-day. This is a gift sabre, made by Borowski works. The fact of giving Polish general the richly decorated sabre in 20th century showed that Polish sabre had great symbolic functions. It was appreciation to the general and also an homage to the weapon with a great impact in Polish culture. It is proved by first words in the Polish national anthem:

Poland has not yet perished,
So long as we still live.
What the alien force has taken from us,
We shall retrieve with a sabre.

The whole handle with an eagle head casted of brass. Form related with karabela?s hilt but has greater original realization and is different cause has front hoop. The cross-guard decorated by artistic flower motif. The eagle?s crown is a nut for fastened the blade with the grip. It has engraved inscription ?For Homeland Honour?.

The blade was made of the finest steel.
