PPSH 41 was a submachine firearm created by Georgy Shpagin in the Soviet Union. It was commonly referred to as “pepesha” or “papasha”. It started to become widely used from the Winter War with Finland. Soldiers fought with it also during the World War too and, for example, Korean War or Bay of Pigs Invasion. When it was invented, it was a firearm with one of the highest rates of fire – up to 1000 rounds per minute.
